Dooars Tea: Where Assam Meets Darjeeling

A Blend of Tradition and Innovation in Northeast India

The Dooars region, nestled below the Darjeeling belt in northeast India, boasts tea renowned for its blend of Assam's character and Darjeeling's unique aroma and sweetness. Tea cultivation began here in 1875, with Kalabari Tea Estate, established in 1878, being among the oldest. Paharghoomia Tea Estate, situated in the Terai Region, produces delicate, flowery-fresh tea with a fine tangy flavor. The Group yields 700 tons of CTC Black Tea branded "Kalabari" in Dooars and 1200 tons under "Paharghoomia" (a joint venture with the Jalan Group) in the Terai, catering to wholesale, auction, and private markets.
